small antique Qing Dynasty kang table in elm
Dynasties of Asia has a very rare and unique Q'ing Dynasty Small
Kang table.
This Chinese antique is 300 years old and is crafted in the
style of Ming Dynasty classical workmanship.
The Q'ing Dynasty kang was typically used for reading, writing,
sitting, or in some instances, as an altar.
Addionally, this Chinese antique kang table was thought to be a
small daybed, and is possible that this kang may have been used
for that purpose.
The top of this Q'ing Dynasty Kang table is fitted with a seat
panel of three boards supported with traverse braces, the
underside of which still retains a thick fabric mesh.
The legs are locked into the frame and the aprons are shaped
with indentations at the corners and curve into the lefT with a
generous radius. The legs taper into in a low hoof foot.
There is still original lacquer present on the finish,
especially around the apron.
Dynasties of Asia has labelled this Chinese antique kang table
as a rare example of fine museum-quality, and is certainly
worthy of investment.
