This remarkable Q'ing Dynasty rug originates from the Xianjiang Province (northwest China) and is over 100 years old. The Xinjiang Province is known for its colorful rugs with much symbolism attached.

The Pomegranates symbolize fertility and virility, promising many sons in the family.

The ancient Chinese thought that the more sons a family had, the more a family would be given honor and riches.
